Additional shorthand relevant only to an individual section or the subsequent section is defined in those sections. The shorthand is placed in parentheses and quotation marks after the first appearance of the longer, original expression. Sections using additional shorthand include §§ 151, 157, 167/168, 203, 215, 216, 220, 222, 229/230, 245, 251, and 253.

The statute itself defines, inter alia, “filing” and “filing date” (§ 103), “principal office” (§ 131(b)), and “electronic transmission” (§ 232(c)).

Any references to statutory provisions without further specification are to sections of the DGCL or, where a chapter reference is given, this title.
